Gifts Should Be Thoughtful
Gifts should always
take a little thought. This may seem obvious but I was famous for getting gifts at the last minute. Whether
it was Christmas shopping, birthdays or anniversaries I would be the one running out to the local pharmacy
the day before or even the day of the event trying to get whatever gifts were available. If you think that
was bad there was sometimes a fifty/fifty chance it might not get wrapped.
So why would someone like me start a site dedicated to
getting the best gifts you can possibly get for every occasion? The answer is simple. The above described me about
ten to fifteen years ago. As I have gotten older I have realized how important giving the right gift is and the
messages that lack of thought and planning send to your loved ones.
Presents don't
always have to be given on a specific occasion. No one can argue with the great feeling you get when someone
opens up a gift that you have given them and their face lights up with joy. For the most part people expect to
receive presents on certain occasions, like Christmas, Valentine's Day and Birthdays but personal gifts given
for unique reasons are sometimes cherished the most. When I got married I happened to plan it on the same day
of my niece's birthday. I did not do it on purpose but once I realized I had I didn't want to diminish the
importance of that day for her. This is an example of a unique birthday gift but it demonstrates the personal
nature that can make a gift so special. On my wedding day instead of throwing the bouquet out to the maidens in
the crowd I decided to hand deliver it to my niece. I thanked her for sharing her special day with me. We
both cried a little and she still has the bouquet holder and ribbons to this day.
Thoughtful gifts don't
have to be about the money but they don't have to be inexpensive homemade ones either. My older sister was
the person who really shifted my attitude towards gifts. She would actually get very upset at my lack of
thought because she always chooses presents that are very specific to the person she is giving it to. If the
person is a wine lover she will go out of her way to find the right wine gift basket. If they like a specific
restaurant she will get them a restaurant gift certificate. This list goes on. The focus of planning which
gifts to buy should be on the person you are giving it to. Of course you need to consider
your budget and other factors like whether you need to get it shipped and therefore whether you will have it
in time.
What I hope to accomplish with this site is to provide our visitors with
great gift ideas that are broken down and
categorized in a way to make it easy to find them. Getting the right gifts for the right people does take
thought and planning but online shopping has made this easier than ever. Utilizing the wide range of online
stores and there specific products you can really blow the socks off of your friends, family and co-workers
with unbelievable, thoughtful and unique gifts that don't necessarily have to cost you an arm and a
leg.
